When I’m not running around Cornwall with my phone taking photo’s, designing new products in the workshop, cooking and eating or half drowning in the sea trying to surf, I can usually be found with my nose in a book.
Yes I do read past my bed time, most nights! I will read literary anything (sorry). So when I was asked if I wanted to join a new local book club, well to say I was keen was an understatement. My sister is in a book club and I’ve always been a little bit envious, to the point where I considered moving to Yorkshire instead of Cornwall just so I could join too!
Book club isn’t just about the books, there’s a social element too, so for me it was the perfect excuse to get out and meet some local and hopefully like-minded folk and have a drink (or four), sounds good doesn’t it?! Only thing is I can’t tell you anything else because the first rule of book club is… you can’t talk about book club!
Here’s a round up of some lovely book themed products I have found by some talented people on etsy, I am really hoping somebody gifts me one of those Library card cushions for my new sofa!
Are you in a book club or have you moved and had to find new social groups? What did you do to get involved and meet new people, I would love to hear from you especially if you have relocated too!
I feel the need for a book club just so I too can say ‘first rule of book club…’
So pleased your getting out and about and making new connections xx miss you
Do it!!! Yes I’m getting there slowing 🙂 Though I miss you too x
I’ve always wanted to join a book club! But can never find one (I’m near Redruth). I struggle too finding local social groups for sewing related adventures and travel to Devon and Somerset for those! Although I have literally just this month set one up to start at Heartlands initially.
Love that kindle cover! I read everyday- my kindle travels everywhere with me and often up way past my bed time too!
Glad it’s not just me Hannah! Do you sell online, if so there is a Cornwall sellers group on etsy you may be interested in. I’m not sure of any sewing groups though but I’ll keep my eye out! I would be really interested in joining you at Heartlands as that’s not too far from me. Drop me an email lindsay@woodpaperscissors.co.uk
Oh yes that Kindle cover is just perfect isn’t it, I love that is a sleeve so you can fit other bits and bobs in too.
